The check-in desks at Cork Airport are on the lower floor of the terminal building. As you approach the terminal, the Departures Hall is on the left. Directly in front of the doors to the Departures Hall is a set-down area designated exclusively for passengers with reduced mobility. Ticketing desks are through the doors and immediately to the left on the outside wall.

Every airline has its own regulations concerning how early passenger are required to check in before departure. This varies from one airline to the next, so it’s important to check in advance. This is usually indicated on the ticket or itinerary as well. The airport authority recommends showing up at the terminal at least 90 minutes ahead of your departure time. Bear in mind that time needed to drop off a hire car needs to be added on top of this.

Passengers are allowed to carry one piece of hand luggage with them. This has to be small enough to fit in the overhead compartment in the airplane. If your hand luggage is over-packed or open, the security officials may require you to check it. Beyond this, you can carry a personal item such as a purse, a laptop or a briefcase. Be sure to have a look at the list of prohibited items before packing for your flight.

Passengers from outside of the EU also apply for a value-added tax refund on all merchandise (but not services) purchased. The tax refund office is on Level 1 to the back right of the check-in desks and next to the Subway sandwich shop.
